Google Picasa takes on Face Recognition

So Google has done it again, and by "it" I mean blow my mind. And in the process make me feel like I'll never keep up. There's a new feature called name tags that will scan your online photos in all of your albums and identify matching faces for you. Then you can assign those faces to nick names or contacts from your Gmail contact list. After that's done, now you can ask Picasa to show you "pictures of mom". Ta-da!

I'm usually super-thrilled about whatever Google tosses out into the world. This time I'm just a bit concerned. Perhaps the idea that if I put a complete contact-association with full name, email, address, phone, etc. to a photo in an album of mine, Google potentially has the ability to (unlawfully) start looking for that person in any photo on the Internet.
